London

I will attend the SBL (Society of Biblical Literature) International Meeting, which will take place on July 4-7, 2011 at the famous King’s College, London.

I will speak in a session entitled “Working with Biblical Manuscripts” with a paper on “Working with Biblical Manuscripts: Joshua 10 at Qumran.” I will show how a new decipherment of the oldest fragments of the Book Joshua sheds light on the history of this fabulous text. See you in London! ;-)

ColTarg

I have been invited to speak at an international conference on the Targums (Aramaic versions of the Hebrew Bible) in the light of ancient Jewish traditions from the Second Temple period (i.e. until the beginning of the common era).

My paper will address the question of a possible Second Temple origin for the critique of power in the targumim. If you’re interested, the conference will take place in Strasbourg on June 27-28, 2011.
