Qumrân, le secret des manuscrits de la mer Morte — Strasbourg

Qumran: the most important archaeological discovery of the XXth century. A revolution for the study of the Bible, ancient Judaism, and the birth of Christianity. Intrigued? Come Wednesday, October 12, at 8 PM in Strasbourg!

If you enjoyed Qumran, the Dead Sea Scrolls Revealed, or if you missed it, don’t miss this conference!

Who lived in Qumran? Who wrote these manuscripts? In what way did they revolutionize the study of the Bible? Were Jesus and his disciples at Qumran? These are but some of the questions that will be answered.

The conference will take place at Cap Europe Hotel, 6 rue de Bitche, 67000 Strasbourg. For more information (entrance fee, booking…) please click on the attached poster. Come with your friends! ;-)

protestemps-forts

Generations in Unison“: this is the theme of the 2011 Protes’temps forts in Strasbourg. But what does the Bible say about it? Isn’t the Bible the theater—even the source—of a true clash of generations?

Come on Nov. 2 at 6:30 PM to the University Palace, room 44, for a conference entitled:

“Bible and Generations: Clash or Unison?”

More information on the Protes’temps forts website.

London

I will attend the SBL (Society of Biblical Literature) International Meeting, which will take place on July 4-7, 2011 at the famous King’s College, London.

I will speak in a session entitled “Working with Biblical Manuscripts” with a paper on “Working with Biblical Manuscripts: Joshua 10 at Qumran.” I will show how a new decipherment of the oldest fragments of the Book Joshua sheds light on the history of this fabulous text. See you in London! ;-)
