French magazine “Le Monde de la Bible” talks about the Maresha ostraca.

On the occasion of an epigraphic mission to Israel, I answered Marie-Armelle Beaulieu’s questions on the Aramaic ostraca from Maresha.

Esther Eshel, director of Bar-Ilan University’s epigraphic center, asked me to help her decipher and publish the almos 400 Aramaic ostraca found during archaeological excavations in Maresha, the antique capital of Idumea.

    1. J’ai hâte d’en savoir plus… En attendant, si ce n’est pas trop confidentiel, peut-on savoir s’il s’agissait d’ostraca utilisés comme objets pour la divination (genre osselets ou ourim/toummim) ou plutôt d’ostraca sur lesquels on a copié des oracles/prophéties ?
