I am invited to lecture on decency and sexuality in Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
I will speak with philosopher Mathilde Naegelen and journalist Marine Lamoureux in order to better understand the concept of decency or modesty and how they are understood and applied in these three religions.
We will discuss contemporary implications, notably religious discourses on sexuality.
Between a sexuality that is sometimes forced (including rape) and, on the contrary, a sexuality that is liberated and publicly displayed, a cultural and religious shock is observed in our society.
The debates about women’s veil and pornography are emblematic of the issues surrounding decency.
I want to thank CLER for their invitation and look forward to this conference!
