I am interviewed by the Times of Israel on an archaeological discovery mentioning Jerubbaal, aka Gideon in the Bible.
Gideon is a famous character from the Book of Judges in the Bible, where he is also called Jerubbaal (Judges 6:32).
A new inscription, found during archaeological excavations in Khirbet ar-Rai, allegedly mentions Yeroubbaal. Is this reading confirmed? Is it the same person?
To find out, please go ahead and read the excellent paper by Amanda Borschel-Dan, whom I thank for contacting me.
