I will discuss the history and development of the alphabet at a workshop tomorrow in Helsinki.

The alphabet has a long a complex history, rooted in the Egyptian hieroglyphs and giving birth to the Hebrew, Phoenician, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, and Arabic scripts.

I will outline this fabulous history and discuss some of the missing links that I am exploring in my current research.

The workshop will take place Thursday 6 September 2018 at the Sofia Cultural Center in Helsinki.
