My article on the Tel Dan stele was published in the prestigious Israel Exploration Journal!
I gave this paper at a conference celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the stele’s discovery.
This inscription is famous for its mention of the “House of David,” which is also attested on the Mesha stele, as I demonstrated in a previous article.
As for the Tel Dan inscription, my study shows that the three fragments have been wrongly glued together and that they actually correspond to two different sections of the stele or to two sister steles.
