I am in Jerusalem to give a lecture with Esther Eshel on Divine Names and Epithets in Aramaic inscriptions.
This lecture is part of a summer school organized by the “Mapping Ancient Polytheisms” project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and headed by Corinne Bonnet.
We will discuss names of gods and demons mentioned in inscriptions and manuscripts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls or the newly discovered Aramaic ostraca from Maresha.
I will also present new imaging techniques and other digital tools that I have developed for the study of these documents.
I want to thank Corinne Bonnet for her invitation, and I also want to thank Esther Eshel for joining me.
